Our Story....

This image was provided to us by DVGRR. He was never advertised on their website, just matched

Jack is relinquished and quickly adopted

  • Jack #19, tag number 18-071, 2/28/18, 3/19/18 an owner surrender

to Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue because of his “roughness.”

He was taken into their program protocol.

  • We adopted Jax shortly after meeting him on May 7, 2018 for a fee of $901.00

and he joined our family.

He was quite the puller on walks as my husband can attest

(and his subsequent hernia surgery).

He was probably the most handsome dog I’ve ever seen...

unless he made this one face.

He was housebroken, had little training and so full of energy...

we decided to fence in our yard to allow him more freedom to roam.

And wow, could he RUN!

This is one of the last professional pictures taken of Jax, taken just days before his death.

Lymphoma is killing this breed. We need to be more vigilant!

  • Jax received a canine flu vaccine on April 26, 2019.  A few days later, he was sick for the first time we had him.
  • Multiple trips to our family vet, insisting it was a tick infection ($476.61 on services and medications).
  •  He is taken to another vet ($354 which included an X-ray).
  • We rush him to an emergency hospital in the Lehigh Valley and get scheduled for an ultrasound (6/7/19) then a follow up biopsy (6/10/19) only to discover it’s stage five cancer.  And let‘s talk about being put in a tough spot financially.  I don’t know how some folks can sleep at night.
  •  Our total bill for the emergency vet was $4705.57 and that included euthanasia and cremation.
  •  Can you see how quickly you can spend $5536.18?
  •   And now we question was the $25.08 vaccine really necessary?

Did it trigger the cancer?  No doubt.

Help us find his breeder!

  • Jack was born on 5/27/2017, but we were not provided with his AKC papers, nor do we know if they even exist.
  • We were surprised to learn from DVGRR he came from Greenfield Puppies, who also mentioned has been linked to puppy mills.
  • We obviously want to know his breeder because Jax was born with a genetically compromised immune system.  (We found this out at the emergency vet).

We want to stop these folks from breeding

so this heartbreak won’t continue.
